The classic car season traditionally begins on the first weekend in February in Bremen. People have been meeting here for 18 years at the Bremen Classic Motorshow, exchanging ideas, talking shop and negotiating. Networking and buying are also possible in 2021 - but only online.
"It was with a very heavy heart that we decided to cancel the in-person trade fair," says Frank Ruge, Project Manager of the Bremen Classic Motorshow. "We have always been a reliable partner for our customers, and we will remain so. We bear the responsibility and that forces us to make this decision. The investment in the trade fair would now be necessary for everyone involved and we cannot make a 100 percent commitment, not in these times."
Nevertheless, Bremen is not letting this get them down and now that the difficult decision has been made, ideas are bubbling up.
"The Bremen Classic Motorshow team is highly motivated to kick off the classic car season online. We are the first of the year and we won't let that get away from us," says Claudia Nötzelmann, the new Head of Special Interest and Trade Fairs at Messe Bremen. "There will be opportunities for fuel and sales talks as well as "ah" and "oh" moments. You could say - we're going off-road."
Exactly how the digital Bremen Classic Motorshow will press the start button will be worked out in the coming weeks. The Bremen Classic Motorshow was scheduled to take place from February 5 to 7, 2021, during which time the digital version will also whet the appetite for the 2021 classic car season.
