The major Zoute Concours d'Elégance may have to be canceled in 2020, but Bonhams is sticking with the auction in Belgium and will be putting 30 classic cars worth EUR 11.7 million under the hammer in Knokke-Heist on October 11, 2020.
Knokke-Heist is located in the north of Belgium and almost by the sea. The auction will take place with an audience and the cars can be inspected on site by appointment before the auction.
In addition to the 30 cars, five mini motorcycles, including a Honda Monkey, will also be up for sale.
With seven Ferrari sports cars, the Italian brand leads the lot list, followed by BMW (3 cars). Really exotic brands are missing.
The royal Aston Martin DB2/4
Newly ordered by King Baudouin of Belgium, the 19555 Aston Martin DB2/4 with French diplomatic plates was delivered to the King in Paris, probably for security reasons.
In 2001, the car was restored to its original specification and now the royal car is said to cost EUR 250,000 to 300,000.
The BMW 507 for the prince
Only 252 BMW 507s were built, chassis 70227 from 1959 went to Prince Constantine II of Greece.
At the end of the 1980s, the car underwent a complete restoration at Brummer in Munich. The restoration seems to have stood the test of time well, and the now feather-white BMW 507 has now been valued at EUR 1.9 to 2.3 million.
The AC Ace Bristol with Le Mans history
The 1957 AC Ace Bristol with chassis number BEX365 is an early example with the famous straight-six engine. The Ace not only took part in the 1960 24 Hours of le Mans, but also in many rallies in Beaujolais, Dieppe and Touraine-Normandie.
During the Le Mans race, however, the Ace failed after 130 laps due to engine problems. Now the car, which still has the special Le Mans windshield and the racing fuel filler neck, is being offered for EUR 400,000 to 500,000.
The Fiat with a Mille Miglia ticket
In 2006, 2010, 2014, 2015 and 2017, the Fiat 514 "Coppa del Alpi" from 1931 took part in the historic Mille Miglia, and there is a confirmation of participation for October 22-25, 2020.
But now chassis 224393 is to come into new hands, estimated at EUR 250,000 to 350,000.
The Lusso from Ferrari
The Ferrari 250 GT Lusso is one of the most beautiful cars ever built in Maranello. Chassis 5017GT in silver paintwork is no exception here, especially as it was restored to concours standard and was once owned by Charles Pozzi. What's more, it even towed a caravan once, which is certainly not something every Ferrari can claim.
That's certainly worth EUR 1.6 to 1.8 million.
Those who are more attracted to eighties Ferraris should take a look at the 512 BB from 1980 with only 32,000 km on the clock. The estimated price is between EUR 250,000 and 300,000.
For Testarossa fans, we should also mention the F512M from 1995, which has run just 19,828 km and is now expected to cost EUR 150,000 to 180,000.
One of six Belgian Austin-Healey Coupés
The Belgian importer and coachbuilder D'Ieteren converted six Austin-Healey 100 BN1s into coupés in the mid-fifties. Chassis BN1-L/156167 was the first of these six and was presented at the Brussels Motor Show.
Now asking EUR 120,000 to 180,000 for this first of two surviving coupés.
Many neoclassic cars with low mileage
Seven of the cars on offer date from after the turn of the millennium, which means they belong to the neoclassic guild. So if you are looking for an Alfa Romeo 8C Spider or a Ford GT, you could find what you are looking for in Zoute.
This also applies to fans of super classics such as the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster or the Jaguar XK 120 SE, the Facel Vega Facel II or the Fiat 500 Jolly. The Bonhams lot list in Zoute may only include 30 cars, but they are quite something.
