The Bonhams auction at the Bonmont golf course near Chéserex, close to Geneva, is one of the annual highlights of the Swiss auction calendar.
On June 29, 2025, the specialists from Bonhams will bring 46 automobiles, two of them in reduced scale, and a good dozen automobilia (model cars and children's vehicles) under the hammer.
Together, the cars are worth around CHF 13.4 million, and a quarter of them are being offered without a reserve price.
43 years old
On average, the 46 vehicles are not quite 43 years old, with the year of manufacture ranging from 1936 to 2023.
In terms of brands, Ferrari (nine vehicles), Porsche (6), Ford (4) and Aston Martin and Bentley (3) are particularly well represented, while more exotic manufacturers such as Allard or Intermeccanica only appear once in the lot list.
While the Ferrari, with an average age of 23 years, are rather young, as are the Aston Martins, the six Porsches are on average 47 years old.
Ferrari super classics
The Ferrari 275 GTB/4 is certainly one of the most beautiful and sought-after Ferrari models. The car on offer was built in 1967.
What is interesting about this example with chassis 09603 is that the car was converted into a NART Spider in the USA, but was returned to its original configuration during a later restoration at Ferrari in Italy. The coupé has belonged to a Swiss collector for around 30 years.
Bonhams does not provide an official estimate, but anyone assuming more than CHF 2.5 million is probably not wrong.
The second car in this price range is a much younger car, the 2022 Aston Martin Valkyrie, which has been estimated at CHF 2.6 to 2.9 million.
The mid-engined hyper sports car, which was only produced 150 times, was delivered to F1 world champion Nico Rosberg, who is unlikely to have covered too many kilometers in the car.
Noble cars
There will be no shortage of classy and elegant cars on the Bonmont golf course on June 29, 2025.
An Aston Martin DB5 from 1964 (CHF 650,000 to 700,000) will go under the hammer, as will a rare Bentley S1 Continental Sports Saloon from 1956, which is expected to fetch CHF 450,000 to 550,000.
The 1966 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud III Drophead Coupé was coachbuilt by H.J. Mulliner Park Ward and is said to have once belonged to John Lennon. The estimated price of CHF 80,000 to 120,000 actually seems quite moderate.
Rarities
An MG TD as an Arnolt coupé by Bertone does not come under the hammer all that often.
The car, which once belonged to jazz musician Maruice Stein, is being offered for CHF 70,000 to 90,000 after extensive restoration.
Even rarer is the coupé that Pietro Frua once built as a one-off based on the Ford Escort under the name "Monte Carlo". Here, CHF 50,000 to 60,000 is enough to buy it.
The Intermeccanica Italia Spyder from 1971 is a little more expensive, as this sports car, which is not often seen, is expected to find a new owner for CHF 120,000 to 140,000.
Affordable classics
Bonhams can also offer around 20 classic cars that will probably find their way into a new garage at five-figure prices.
Examples include the red MGB GT Coupé from 1972 for CHF 10,000 to 15,000, the gold-colored Ford Capri 2000 GT XLR from 1970 forCHF 20,000 to 25,000, but also the red NSU Wankel Spyder from 1966 for CHF 20,000 to 30,000.
It's worth taking a look at the diverse catalog. It can be found on the Bonhams website together with more pictures and information on the individual lots.
