Some will still remember the Ferrari auctions held by Bonhams in Gstaad. However, the British auction house has been quiet for several years, at least in Switzerland. But now Bonhams, one of the leading international auction houses, is returning to Switzerland on Sunday, September 29, 2019 to hold a sensational auction at the prestigious Bonmont Golf Club in Geneva.
The auction will be led by a private collection consisting of 25 hypercars, supercars and other luxury vehicles, all of which will be auctioned without a minimum bid.
Magnificent ambience
Next to the magnificent clubhouse, a castle overlooking Lake Geneva, there is a 12th century monastery where the auction will take place. The monastery provides the perfect backdrop for the auction of these exceptional vehicles - from hypercars to convertibles and limousines.
The total estimated value of the collection, which consists of rare vehicles from renowned international manufacturers such as Aston Martin, Bentley, Bugatti, Ferrari, Koenigsegg, Lamborghini, Maserati, Mercedes-Maybach and Porsche, is around CHF 13.5 million (EUR 12 million).
Neo-classics
The vehicles on offer include a Lamborhini Veneno with just 325 km on the clock, a Ferrari LaFerrari with 1000 km on the clock and a Koenigsegg One:1, an extremely rare model with 597 km on the clock.
In addition to other sports cars, there is a McLaren P1 and an Aston Martin One 77, as well as a Bugatti Veyron 16.4, which has also only just clocked up 3000 km.
The collection is being offered by the Canton of Geneva and the vehicles are all being offered without a reserve price. The auction will be conducted by Mr. Mauro Contessotto, auctioneer of the Canton of Geneva.
In addition to the aforementioned vehicles, other vintage and modern classics are also expected to be auctioned, and cars can still be registered for the auction.
Two days before the auction, Bonhams will exhibit the vehicles (Friday, September 27 and Saturday, September 28, 2019) at the Bonmont Golf & Country Club. In addition to the supercars, other highlights from various departments will be presented, such as jewelry, watches, Chinese and modern and contemporary art.
