It's nothing new to see celebrities at the Brighton Veteran Car Run, organized by Bonhams. However, the fact that they take part themselves is worth a mention. At this year's run, Red Bull team boss Christian Horner and his wife Geri will be behind the wheel of a Panhard-Levassor.
Christian is the team manager of the successful Red Bull Formula 1 racing team, while his wife Geri became internationally famous through her involvement with the Spice Girls. The couple will compete in a 1904 Panhard-Levassor, the 15 hp car is a new experience for Horner, who is used to fast cars.
The test run has already been completed and he had a lot of fun with the car once the basics were in place, said Horner. He and his wife were already looking forward to the event and would also be motivated if it rained.
The couple's car will be one of the newer cars at the event, with a deliberate focus on the early days of automotive history, i.e. the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century. Speed is not the main focus here, it is more about the flair of a bygone era.
As the race is organized by the renowned auction house Bonhams, an auction at the end of the event is of course a must. The entire event will take place in London between November 1 and 4, 2018.
Further information about the London-to-Brighton Run is of course available online.
