On Sunday, August 18, 2013, it's that time again. After the legendary Siffert event in 2011, the Altbüron hill climb will once again take place in the usual manner and according to the same rules.
Everyone joins forces
The hill climb for historic sports and racing cars in Altbüron will be held for the sixth time thanks to the renewed great goodwill and commitment of the municipal authorities of Altbüron and the approval of the relevant authorities of the Canton of Lucerne. All requirements that were also applied and implemented at previous Altbüron events rightly remain valid.
1.4 km long mountain route
The route measures 1.4 km, is interesting, clear and safe if ridden appropriately. A relatively flat start is followed by several beautiful and challenging combinations of bends.
For real racing cars
The stage is primarily advertised for cars built for racing. Road-legal vehicles are welcome if they have been used in races in the past. Or if they are vehicles that enrich the event from a historical perspective. Racing cars built up to 1983 are permitted, or interesting newer racing cars by invitation. Great importance is attached to original vehicles, good reproductions only as an exception and with appropriate declaration. The number of participants will be limited to 135 racing cars, plus a selection of racing motorcycles. A vehicle jury will determine the final inclusion in the program.
Important - the vehicle history
There are two reasons why an outline of the vehicle's history is required. Firstly, the Altbüron hill climb is primarily open to genuine former racing cars. The individual history of a car is therefore an important selection criterion. In addition, a short accompanying text to the photo in the program booklet is intended to provide spectators and participants with the biographies of the racing cars.
The registration period is running
An application form is available online at www.race-inn.ch. The application must be completed in full and returned to the organizer's address before the entry deadline, 31 May 2013. The entry fee of sFr. 250.00 (€ 210.00) will be invoiced upon acceptance of the application.
