We have just received the news that the Frauenfeld Car Days have been canceled. The ACS Thurgau writes in its press release of March 14, 2020:
No car racing days Frauenfeld 2020
The measures imposed by the Federal Council in connection with the coronavirus also affect ACS Thurgau as the organizer of the Frauenfeld Car Racing Days: The event planned for the weekend of 25/26 April unfortunately has to be cancelled!
Although "Corona" has been the dominant theme since January, we have been pushing ahead with our preparations for the Frauenfeld Car Racing Days with full vigor. "We were aware that the cancellation was imminent because our event was planned very close in time," says Christof Papadopoulos, Managing Director of the ACS Thurgau section and OC Vice President of the Frauenfeld Car Racing Days. "But protecting the public is also important to us, so we fully understand the measures and restrictions imposed by the Federal Council."
The organizing committee has already consulted and decided that the Frauenfeld Auto Racing Days will not take place again until 2021. "A postponement to the second half of the year is out of the question for various reasons," explains Christof Papadopoulos. "We look forward to welcoming visitors back in April 2021 and hope that everyone gets through this difficult time well."
The event is also popular with classic and modern classic car drivers, as they now have a permanent place at the ACS Auto-Renntagen Frauenfeld. They are a great attraction for spectators, they make the hearts of lovers of "old iron" beat faster, and the owners of these magnificent vehicles have the opportunity to exchange ideas with like-minded people in a motorsport environment.
They would have been welcome again this year at the Frauenfeld Car Racing Days and could have put their driving skills to the test on the challenging 3.2 km long slalom race track with its 49 gates. Hopefully this will be possible again next year.
