Automechanika Frankfurt (September 8–12, 2026), in collaboration with Bosch Classic, DAT, Eucon, ROWE, and FIVA—and has thus created a hub for trade visitors and experts at this year’s show. But the largest B2B trade show isn’t just about replacement parts, accessories, maintenance, repairs, and retrofits—it’s also about the emotions associated with classic cars.
In this way, Automechanika complements the trade show experience with interactive and dialogue-based formats. Throughout the trade show, a live restoration project will draw attention: A rare 1954 Simca Figoni will be restored on-site by a young team led by Mike Kastrop (“Classic Mike”) and Pauline Louwman, making the craftsmanship and processes transparent and tangible for visitors.
The exhibition is further enhanced by a selection of special exhibits at the fairgrounds. These include extraordinary one-of-a-kind pieces such as a roadworthy 1960 VW Käfer cutaway model, which was one of only four originally developed for exhibition and training purposes.
FIVA, the World Federation of Classic Cars, will be present as a strategic partner of the Classic Alliance throughout the entire duration of the show, underscoring the international focus of the classic car sector. Another emotional highlight will be the presentation of the “Golden Classic” award by AUTO BILD KLASSIK on the first evening of the show, with the winning vehicles subsequently displayed on the exhibition grounds.
In addition, there will be an extensive program of discussions and panel sessions on topics such as the next generation of talent and business succession, auction and market trends, knowledge transfer and securing a skilled workforce, as well as additive manufacturing in the field of plastics and metal technologies.
Opel Classic is participating for the first time. As part of the “Classic Car Exhibition,” the Rüsselsheim-based company will showcase icons ranging from the “System Lutzmann” patent motorcar to the Opel GT and motorsport vehicles such as the Calibra V6 4x4 and Astra Kit Car at booth F12 F74A.
“Opel Classic’s participation at this year’s Automechanika is intended to highlight Opel’s unique history and bring it to life for the international trade audience. Visitors can view Opel models from 1899 through the year 2000 and thus experience automotive tradition and innovation ‘made in Germany’ up close,” says Opel Classic Director Leif Rohwedder.
