The format has obviously proved its worth. Following the "Ferrari Only" auction this summer, the Berlin auction house Auctionata is once again announcing a single-brand auction. The event on December 12, 2015 will be dedicated to Porsche and 25 air-cooled 911s, respectively further developments and racing sports cars will go under the hammer, as well as a Magirus truck in the colors of the legendary Porsche transporters. The Auctionata experts, supported by the specialists from Karero, sold the 25 Porsches for almost six million euros, or CHF 6.42 million.
As usual, the cars will be auctioned online, but you can also attend the auction in person, where the cars will be on display at the Prototyp Automuseum in Hamburg on December 12, 2015 and the event will be hosted by Porsche expert Ulf Poschardt.
A 935 with matching racing transporter
The secret star of the auction is probably the Porsche 935, which was built by a private team on the basis of a 1977 930 Turbo and had its racing debut many years ago. The car was rebuilt and perfected in 2000. The 610 hp racer will be accompanied by a Magirus truck from 1968, an 11.5-tonner with the look of the classic Porsche racing transporter.
Together, the two vehicles are now said to be worth between 250,000 and 300,000 euros; the investment in the rebuild in 2000 alone is likely to have exceeded this amount.
The most expensive road-going sports car
However, the Porsche 959 from 1988 with a mileage of just 8294 km was valued significantly higher than the 935 Transporter combo.
Auctionata's experts are expecting between 1.2 and 1.4 million euros for the almost virgin super sports car from the 1980s.
The most expensive racing car
The Porsche 911 ST from 1970 with Group IV equipment, one of a maximum of 20 such cars used in hill climb and circuit races and car slaloms at the time, is expected to be even more expensive.
The sports car has German papers and is now set to find a new owner for between 1.3 and 1.5 million euros.
The younger ones
Around a third of the Porsche sports cars were built after 1985, the youngest being a 993 Turbo from 1997, but there are also two 964s and some late G models.
The youngtimers start at an estimated price of 50,000 euros, but the 911 Speedster from 1989 could also make the highest bidder an estimated 280,000 euros "poorer".
The older ones
At the other end of the spectrum are two early Porsche 911s from 1964, one a racing car with an FIA pass, the other the unrestored 984th coupé in white. Both are said to be worth around 300,000 euros.
But even the original 911s will be a little cheaper in Berlin/Hamburg on December 12, 2015, with a 911 E Targa from 1970 estimated at around EUR 100,000 in the catalog.
Further information on the vehicles and many additional pictures can be found on the Auctionata website.
