Fans and participants of the popular hill climb from Langwies to Arosa can breathe a sigh of relief: timed runs over the Nürburgring of the Alps will be possible again in 2013.
As the organization of the Arosa ClassicCar race announces, after intensive and constructive negotiations with the Swiss sports authority Auto Sport Switzerland, a solution has been found that allows the event to be held in two modes, namely as a hill climb with timekeeping under the name "Arosa ClassicCar Hill Climb" and without timekeeping as a performance demonstration under the name "Alpine Performance".
New regulations and competition modes
The organization has already adapted the regulations, which can be accessed online:
Alpine Performance (without timekeeping):
- Event as a performance demonstration without timekeeping, without scoring and without ranking.
- Driver conditions: none
- Vehicle conditions: Make and type must be related to racing.
The regulations are available here.
Arosa ClassicCar regularity, scoring mode 1
- Event only for vehicles built in 1947 or later with timekeeping. Double the number of penalty points for an average speed of over 80 km/h. Otherwise analogous to uniformity, scoring mode 2
- Driving conditions: Valid driver's license, INT-D daily license, racing overall
- Vehicle conditions: FIVA ID Card or FIA-HRCP or FIA HTP, hand fire extinguisher
Arosa ClassicCar regularity, scoring mode 2
- Event for vehicles built in 1912 or later, with timekeeping.
- No specification of an average speed.
- The participant with the smallest deviation in running time from all race heats wins.
- Driving conditions: Valid driver's license, NAT license or INT-H license (annual licenses).
- Vehicle conditions: FIA HRCP or FIA HTP, safety regulations Appendix K FIA (rollover system etc.).
The regulations for scoring mode 1/2 are available here.
Arosa ClassicCar Competition/Racing
