Due to the current pandemic situation, the Concours d'Excellence International, Lucerne also has to be postponed until 2022. The traditional event, which was held in Lucerne from 1928 to 1955 and then again from 2015 to 2018, is another Lucerne event highlight after the Lozärner Määs that has to be canceled for 2021. The Concours, which was originally held on the Nationalquai in recent years, was already canceled in 2019 and 2020.
New concept unfortunately not pandemic-proof
The newly designed Concours event, which was to take place in and in front of the Swiss Museum of Transport on September 11, 2021, has had to be postponed until next year due to the current pandemic situation.
Unfortunately, successful implementation is not realistic due to the prescribed protective measures. The organization of the event, which is based on the use of the Swiss Museum of Transport site on the one hand and the extensive perimeter on Lidostrasse and the area in front of the Swiss Museum of Transport on the other, is not possible in this way. This applies both to the requirements for the participants in the competition and to the restrictions for the many visitors expected in front of and inside the Swiss Museum of Transport for this event.
The organizing committee of the Concours d'Excellence International very much regrets this. Information on the postponement of the event to 2022 and further details for the future will be provided shortly.
Further information can be found on the Concours website.
