Get in, buckle up and go on a "journey through time" - around 4,000 passengers took advantage of this opportunity at the "Rolling Museum Munich 2024", which took place for the 15th time as part of the Long Night of Munich Museums. Around 90 classic cars from 27 brands drove along the approximately five-kilometer route between the Deutsches Museum on Museum Island on the Isar and the transport center on Theresienhöhe.
As every year, the field of participants was diverse - including three historic emergency vehicles to mark the 70th anniversary of ADAC Straßenwacht: the VW 1200 saloon from 1969, the VW Golf C 1.6D from 1983 and the VW Transporter 1500 from 1964, which has been running exclusively on synthetically produced e-fuels since 2022.
This year, participants who provided their classic cars at their own expense were able to enjoy a classic car-savvy ADAC breakdown mechanic, who was deployed exclusively for the Rolling Museum. They also received a voucher from ADAC Klassik for the ADAC test center in Munich and a voucher from Benzin-Kontor AG, which already offers the alternative fuel HVO100 for diesel vehicles.
"The ADAC is committed to the preservation, maintenance and use of motoring cultural assets - i.e. classic cars - and therefore welcomes the concept of the Rolling Museum, which also gives many young people an insight into this multifaceted hobby. For this reason, we would like to continue our involvement in this event next year," says Karlheinz Jungbeck, Member of the Board of ADAC Südbayern and ADAC Tourism President.
The "Rolling Museum Munich" will take place next year on October 18, 2025.
