In September 2018, the ADAC Europa Classic will be a new classic car tour for historic and classic cars organized by ADAC Klassik. The new event will take participants to various European countries, starting next year in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland. The ADAC Europa Classic continues the successful ADAC Trentino Classic, with which the ADAC e.V. revived the tradition of car touring in 2004.
"ADAC Klassik is developing the format of the successful classic car walking tours further next year with a new tour through Europe," says ADAC Sport President Hermann Tomczyk. "We are looking forward to getting to know the most beautiful and touristically attractive regions of Europe with the ADAC Europa Classic. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the Trentino region for the good cooperation and the unforgettable moments at the ADAC Trentino Classic over the past 14 years."
The premiere of the ADAC Europa Classic, which was announced at Motorworld Classics Berlin, will take participants to Ticino, the southernmost region of Switzerland, in September 2018. Ticino inspires with its many facets and Italian flair, and participants can expect fantastic mountain panoramas and a Mediterranean ambience. Numerous serpentines wind their way through a unique landscape of green vegetation, ranging from alpine areas to palm-fringed lakes with a Mediterranean climate, guaranteeing an unforgettable riding experience. The variety in this small area is incredible: from the alpine northern Ticino with the UNESCO castles in Bellinzona to the picturesque lakes such as Lake Maggiore with the famous vacation resorts of Ascona and Locarno and the adjacent valleys. On to Lugano, the cultural and lifestyle metropolis of Ticino with the adjacent Lago di Lugano. Not forgetting the southernmost region, the Mendrisiotto, where most of the vineyards are located.
