The response has been impressive: The appeal for donations by the organizers of the ADAC Eifel Rallye Festival for those affected by the flood disaster in the Eifel region raised 40,000 euros in a very short time. "The very day after the tsunami, we received inquiries from all over Europe, the United States and even Australia asking if everything was okay with us," said organization manager Otmar Anschütz (Daun), describing the sympathy of the motorsport fans.
The result of the appeal for donations proves how much participants and fans identify with the event region in the Vulkaneifel and show their solidarity. In addition to Germany, support came from all over Europe, and money was even transferred from Hong Kong and Canada. "To ensure that the donation goes directly to those affected in the Vulkaneifel region, we are handing over the money to the Vulkaneifel District Community Foundation in Daun," explains Anschütz.
Julia Gieseking, District Administrator of the Vulkaneifel district, accepted the cheque for 40,000 euros on behalf of the community foundation. "It's overwhelming, the willingness to donate and the solidarity of the people are still enormous. It's great that our population, associations and volunteers are standing together like this. We have already been able to pay out the first funds to those affected by the flood disaster quickly and unbureaucratically. This will now continue unabated."

This year's tenth edition of the Eifel Rallye Festival was actually planned for July 22-24, 2021 in the Vulkaneifel region around Daun. Unfortunately, the pandemic did not allow the event to take place this year either. However, the world's largest rally museum on wheels will return in 2022 and will celebrate its anniversary in style.
