The Ollon-Villars hill climb has a long tradition dating back to 1953. It was held 10 times up until 1971 and was often the deciding factor in the European Hill Climb Championship. Up to 40,000 spectators lined the varied race track each time.
Almost all of the great racing drivers of the time competed at some point.
The hill climb has been held as a historic event since 1998, seven times so far.
Eighth edition postponed
The eighth edition of the historic Ollon-Villars hill climb was planned for 2020 and many had been looking forward to it for a long time, as the last event took place in 2017. However, the coronavirus thwarted the plans and the organizers decided to postpone the eighth edition by one year.
The new date is August 21 and 22, 2021.
