Summary
Between 1953 and 1971, ten hill climbs were held between the wine village of Ollon and the winter sports resort of Villars. For a long time, the event was part of the European Hill Climb Championship. From 1998, the hill climb was revived as a historic event and is now one of the most important. In addition to the return of the track record holder Tecno F2, there were also other prestigious cars at the start, some of which can only rarely be seen racing. This report takes a brief look at the history of the Ollon-Villars circuit and summarizes the impressions of this year's 2013 event in words and pictures.

Preview (beginning of the article)
Between 1953 and 1971, ten hill climbs were held between the wine village of Ollon and the winter sports resort of Villars. For a long time, the event counted towards the European Hill Climb Championship. The start lists from back then include names such as Jo Bonnier, Jim Clark, Jo Siffert, Peter Schetty, Herbert "Stumpen" Müller, Arturo Merzario and Peter Sauber. The track record dates back to 1971 and was set by the unforgotten François Cevert in a Tecno F2. He only needed 3'47.04 for the 8 km route, which corresponds to an average speed of 126.8 km/h. What sounds unspectacular is almost incomprehensible today if you know the narrow, steep route with several hairpin bends.
