On Sunday, September 1, two-, three- and four-wheeled classics will meet for the seventh time on the grounds of Huba Control and on the Tägerhardring in Würenlos. The Aargau section of the FAM (Friends of Old Motorcycles) will also be making a stop as part of their fall ride and the Friends of Old Sheet Metal of All Brands (FaBaM) will also be on site. The Lägern Classic lasts from 9 am to 4 pm.
Historic vehicles, whether motorcycles or automobiles, enjoy great popularity - among owners as well as the general public. This has been impressively demonstrated by previous editions of the Lägern Classic: Up to 900 cars and motorcycles and up to 5000 visitors have met in Würenlos each time.

This success has led to the Lägern Classic Association winning a coveted "Swiss Classic Award" in the Door Opener category last fall. The Door Opener Award recognizes activities and achievements that bring the topic of historic vehicles closer to a wider target group. A high-caliber jury of experts from the classic car scene nominated the Lägern Classic for the Door Opener Award and the public voted for it.
The concept of the event with a meeting and round trip was particularly appreciated, as was the fact that the meeting is also open to youngtimers. This sets the Lägern Classic apart from the majority of other classic car meetings.
Standing and driving
That's why the organizing association Lägern Classic is bringing the two successful forms, meeting and cruise, together again in 2024. On the one hand, there will once again be a meeting at the usual location on the grounds of Huba Control AG in Würenlos, and on the other hand, there will once again be a cruise around the Lägern for those who appreciate driving with like-minded people.
From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The seventh edition will take place on Sunday, September 1. In Würenlos - well known to drivers all over Europe thanks to the "Frässbalken", a highway service station that is over 50 years old - it will be a rendezvous for friends of old sheet metal and iron, regardless of whether they have two, three or four wheels.The event starts at 9 a.m. when the festival grounds around Huba Control AG at Industriestrasse 17 open. Then the technical and petrolhead discussions can begin, either directly at the Oldie or in the covered catering area, which offers a varied range of food and drink.
Entertainment will also be provided: if the weather is fine, the band "Steamy Joe" will once again be playing a variety of blues-rock sets right next to the festival restaurant from around 10.30 am to 3 pm.Around midday this year, a large delegation of "Friends of Old Motorcycles" (FAM) will roll onto the festival site as part of their fall ride, so there is sure to be a good number of historic two- and three-wheelers this year.
But there will also be plenty of four-wheeled classics to marvel at. The members of "Freunde alten Blech aller Marken" (FaBaM) will also be on site with their vehicles and support the Lägern Classic association in organizing the event.
Large catchment area
"In the catchment area of the Limmat Valley, and in Aargau anyway, there are demonstrably many classic vehicles, so there needs to be an opportunity to show and marvel at them. We are pleased that other classic car enthusiasts also see it this way and are grateful that the members of FaBaM are supporting us on Sunday so that the many expected vehicles can be brought in in an orderly fashion," explains Stefan Mathys, President of the Lägern Classic Association.
Entry costs five francs per vehicle, and vehicles built up to 2004 are eligible to take part. Entry is free for visitors.
