The Langmatt Motor Classics classic car event is taking place for the sixth time in the park of the Langmatt Museum in Baden. This time, the event is being organized in cooperation with the Lancia Club Suisse. However, a visit is not only worthwhile because of the Italian cult brand, but also because of the attractive supporting program for all generations.
The Langmatt Museum in Baden is considered one of the most important private collections of French Impressionism in Europe. Once a year, on the occasion of the Langmatt Motor Classics, the art nouveau villa and park serve as an incomparable historical backdrop for classic cars. For this year's edition on Sunday, September 4, 2022, the Lancia Club Suisse has been invited as a guest club.
A brand with a rich history
The Langmatt Museum exudes the magic of culture and history. Classic Lancia cars fit perfectly into this setting. The traditional brand was founded in Turin in 1906. Thanks to its outstanding, sometimes quirky technical solutions and pioneering design, Lancia quickly gained an outstanding reputation. Not only entrepreneurs and engineers revered Lancia, but also high society and the art world. Brigit Bardot, Marcello Mastroianni, Anita Ekberg, Prince Rainier of Monaco as well as Enrico Caruso, Erich Maria Remarque, Ernest Hemingway and famous racing drivers such as Fangio and Nuvolari were among Lancia's illustrious customer base. At the Langmatt, models from the time of company founder Vincenzo Lancia will be on display, as well as the glamorous models of the fifties and sixties and the later rally cars.
Celebrating beauty with the whole family
On September 4, not only the Italian cult brand will be celebrated, but beauty in general. Visitors have free admission to the museum and can immerse themselves in the Langmatt's impressive collection of paintings during short guided tours. Some historic Lancia cars will be available for free tours. The event is rounded off by an all-day children's program and a varied culinary offering with a Prosecco bar, Veranda Café and food trucks. A parking area is available for guest vintage cars at the Gärtnerhaus.
