On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the launch of the Porsche 901 model at the IAA in Frankfurt in September 1963 and in honor of its creator Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, the S.R.C. (Salzburg Rallye Club) is holding a birthday party for the legendary Porsche 911 model.
For all 911 models
All enthusiasts and owners of the Porsche 911 from 1964 to 2013 are invited. The program consists of free driving on the Salzburgring and a drive to Zell am See, with a visit and tribute to the graves of Ferdinand Porsche and Ferdinand Alexander Porsche.
This is not a rally, but a non-classified drive, with an interesting route over the Grossglockner to Gmünd, with a visit to the Porsche Museum and the Porsche development hut, from which the legendary 356 originated. The return journey is via Katschberg and the Radstädter Tauern Pass.
The event is complemented by a Porsche parts market at the Salzburgring with interesting accompanying offers. A barbecue party for all participants will be held at the Salzburgring on each day of the event. A lunch will be prepared in Zell am See and a coffee break in Gmünd.
Birthday party in Salzburg
The three-day program concludes with a big birthday party at the Salzburg Exhibition Centre, with the presentation of honorary prizes and a raffle of high-quality watches.
The three-day celebration (19 to 21 September 2013) is being organized by the S.R.C. (Salzburg Rally Club) in cooperation with Porsche Austria.
