The British Car Meeting (BCM for short) is one of the most popular gatherings of British cars. It has been held at the Mollis airfield in the canton of Glarus for many, many years and attracts over 1300 vehicles on the last Sunday in August.
Informal and free of charge
You don't need to register or have a big wallet to take part in the BCM. Simply drive in from 09:00 on August 25, 2024 and park your English car directly in the festival area. You can also drive off again at your leisure.
On site, not only the other cars from all eras of British motoring invite you to linger, but also stands with automobilia, specialist books, spare parts and club representatives.
Of course, food and drink will also be provided. The organizers are always grateful for a donation, which can be placed in the "offering boxes" provided at the entrance or exit.
For non-English drivers, there are visitor parking spaces just outside the festival grounds.
Special guest "Rootes"
At the meeting on August 25, 2024, the "Rootes" brand association will be welcomed as a special guest. As a reminder, the Rootes Group combined the Hillman, Sunbeam, Humber, Commer and Karrier brands, among others, in the 1950s. Singer and Talbot were also part of the group.
So anyone who drives a Singer Vogue, a Sunbeam Alpine or a Hillman Imp is definitely welcome. Of course, the clubs concerned are also calling on their members to take part separately on August 29, 2024.
Now, after the somewhat rainy 2023 edition, we can only hope for good weather.
Further information can be found on the meeting website.
