On September 14, 2019, the 4th edition of the Concours d'Excellence International will take place on the Nationalquai in Lucerne. In this beauty contest, rare and unique historic automobiles from different eras will be judged by a panel of experts and can be viewed up close. The number of places is limited and the entry fee is CHF 380.
Vehicles that can be classified in the following categories are permitted:
Class A - closed cars
Production vehicles & special bodies -1940
Class B - open automobiles;
Production vehicles & special bodies up to 1940
Class C - Closed automobiles;
Production cars 1945 to 1985
Class D - Open cars;
Production cars 1945 to 1985
Class E - Closed automobiles;
Special bodywork 1945 to 1985
Class F - Open cars;
Special bodywork 1945 to 1985
Class G - Racing cars up to 1940
Class H - Racing cars 1945 to 1985
Timetable
from 11:00: Arrival at the Swiss Museum of Transport and registration
from 12:30: Presentation of the vehicles in front of the Grand Casino Lucerne
from 16:00: Presentation of the public winner on stage
from 17:00: Aperitif, award ceremony, dinner at the Swiss Museum of Transport
approx. 21:00: End of the event
Historic Lucerne event
The first Lucerne "beauty contest for automobiles" took place in 1928 and was held until 1955. The highlight of each event was the presentation of the vehicles on the Nationalquai in Lucerne.
