The organizers of the annual classic car fair in Reims, France, which is traditionally also frequented by many Swiss visitors and guests from Germany, have announced that the 33rd edition originally planned for the coming weekend (7 to 8 March 2020) has been postponed to the second weekend in May (9 to 10 May 2020) due to the coronavirus.
In France, the authorities have banned events in indoor venues with over 5,000 visitors until further notice. The fair in Reims, officially the Salon Champénois des Véhicules de Collection, attracts around 35,000 visitors from many European countries every year.
Restrictions were already expected due to the current renovation work being carried out on the exhibition grounds in the Champagne city. For example, the outdoor area for vendors had been partially relocated and the otherwise extremely popular special parking area for classic cars was canceled for this year.
Further information can be found on the organizer's website.
