For 15 years, car enthusiasts from all over the world have been drawn to Romanshorn to visit Fredy Lienhard's vehicle collection. 120 exhibits, mainly from the motorsport sector, are housed in the listed industrial halls. Last weekend, Fredy Lienhard welcomed the 250,000th visitor to his car-building adventure world: Roman Schläpfer is an enthusiastic "regular customer" and regularly attends the events offered in Romanshorn in his Ford GT. Numerous events and a special exhibition are on the agenda at erlebniswelt every year.
New visitor record
The management of the Autobau-Erlebniswelt can generally look back on a successful year: 23,000 visitors were counted, an increase of 21% on the previous year. A guided tour through the collection of over 120 vehicles lasts 90 minutes and was booked 350 times.
Event outlook
The season was launched in mid-April with the first "Roll out", where two Ferrari F40s were presented. The "Roll out" and "Carspotting" are popular events and take place on average once a month. The vehicles can be inspected at close range, photographed or filmed and driven around the company's own circuit. With a bit of luck, you might even get a ride.
There are also numerous car meetings in the summer. The "Ford and Young & Oldtimer Meet" will take place for the fifth time on July 7, 2024. On September 22, 2024, the Autobau-Erlebniswelt will be the venue for the "ACS Auto-Treff". Both events now attract well over 100 exhibitors and a large number of visitors.
Special exhibition "Tiny Great Cars"
From May 30 to August 31, 2024, the Autobau-Erlebniswelt will dedicate a special exhibition to the BMC ADO 16, which ADO 16 collector Christian Rutishauser will stage and be responsible for. Various themed evenings on "Technology, lifestyle and perspectives" will round off the special exhibition with Austin, Morris, MG, Innocenti, Riley, Vanden Plas and Wolseley. On certain days, visitors also have the opportunity to take the wheel of an ADO 16 vehicle themselves and drive around the in-house car-building circuit.
