In fact, the Bentley Continental GT can already be considered a youngtimer. It was unveiled in Paris in 2002 and went on sale in 2003. Under the hood was the W12 engine that was once developed for the VW Phaeton, but was turbocharged for the Bentley. 5998 cm3 resulted in 560 hp.
The original model cost EUR 167,504 or around CHF 240,000 when it went on sale in September 2003.
It managed the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds (according to the factory) and a top speed of 318 km/h was specified. The driver didn't have to be as talented as they liked, as a six-speed automatic transmission assisted them in harnessing this forward momentum. The all-wheel drive ensured that the driver did not leave the track.
And of course, a whole clan developed from the original Continental GT.
