When old metal drives, floats and flies through the air, it's Klassikwelt Bodensee again! From June 12 to 14, the Friedrichshafen exhibition grounds and beyond will be buzzing again: the 17th Klassikwelt Bodensee will get the weekend off to a great start with the "Sunset on the Lake" on the first day of the fair. From 18:30, vintage and classic car fans will drive from the exhibition grounds to the Friedrichshafen lakeside promenade and present themselves between Graf-Zeppelin-Haus and Gondelhafen against the backdrop of Lake Constance. "It creates an atmosphere that can only be found in this form in Friedrichshafen," says Andreas Hein, First Mayor of the city of Friedrichshafen.
The combination of exhibition and action is part of the secret to the success of Klassikwelt, which has become a highlight of the southern German classic and modern classic car scene since 2008. In 12 exhibition halls, in the ADAC Oldtimer Parkarena in between and on the open-air grounds, visitors can expect a varied classic program with air shows, vintage demo racing and water excursions by amphicars on land, air and water. New this year is the partnership between Klassikwelt Bodensee and the first Techno Classica Salon, which will take place in Dortmund for the first time in September.
A visible sign of this cooperation is the special show "Techno Classica Salon presents: Past Brands". This includes big names such as Talbot, Borgward, Adler, Horch, Wanderer and DKW, which once played an important role in the street scene and in technical development. It is organized and implemented with the support of the well-known classic car expert Johannes Hübner. It is deliberately aimed at several generations. "While younger visitors discover automotive history, older guests can share their personal memories of earlier vehicles and mobility experiences. This creates a dialog between past and present," says the new Klassikwelt project manager Holger Ewald.
Other attractive special shows will provide food for thought and curiosity. For example, the Steim car collection from Schramberg and the Bavarian Fire Brigade Museum from Waldkaiburg will be exhibiting around 20 historic fire engines. The popular Amphicars will once again be launched in front of the trade fair and the "Nippon Classics" will pick up on the current trend in the young scene towards Japanese classics. The exhibitions on "Modern Classic Bikes" and the Italian brand Laverda should delight motorcycle enthusiasts.
Klassikwelt Bodensee will take place from Friday, June 12 to Sunday, June 14, 2026 in Friedrichshafen. It is open on Friday from 10 am to 7 pm, Saturday from 9 am to 6 pm and Sunday from 9 am to 5 pm. A day ticket costs 22 euros online, concessions 20 euros.
