Description
The Mercedes W111, the large tail fin, the representative 60s Mercedes par excellence, in absolutely rare original condition. Unwelded, rust-free.
First registered in the south of France, it spent 30 years in a French barn before being re-imported to Germany. The only damage: A mouse had made itself at home in the rear upholstery. As a result, the rear seat is covered with original NOS fabric. The previous owners also installed a new exhaust and replaced various seals and small parts.
I became aware of my "fin" due to a description in AutoBildKlassik under the heading "Test drive", which appeared at the end of 2023. Quintessence: "If you are looking for a good W111, you should definitely buy one here." I haven't regretted it and have driven around 4000 km with it in the last 15 months. Why am I selling my fin again? Too little opportunity to ride and enjoy it. Too bad to leave her to fend for herself in a parking garage. She drives like an annual car, most recently 400 km on a weekend from Berlin to the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. Pure pleasure. Everything just works. Over the course of the year, I had to have the carburetor overhauled and a new fuel pump installed. Since then, it starts absolutely reliably, runs smoothly, doesn't get hot in traffic jams and consumes 12l/100km in mixed road conditions.
An expert report from November 2023 determines a condition 2- with a value of €28,400.
The car is looking forward to a new appreciative owner. Thank you for your interest. And as long as it is not sold, I will continue to take my fin out occasionally.
