History:
The Land Rover Defender is the true four-wheel drive icon. A car that knows no obstacles, gets through everywhere - and is also well received, and a welcome guest on all roads. The Defender is a classic for anyone who wants to experience a form of mobile freedom, wants to remain independent and is not ashamed of not being on the road in an electric vehicle.
The virtually indestructible technology, from the solid, rock-solid chassis to the rust-proof aluminum body and solid engines that can easily clock up well over 300,000 kilometers, makes the Land Rover a buddy for life.
This Defender once served Italy's police force before being restored at great expense by an Italian living in Switzerland, made suitable for civilian use and brought to Switzerland. After an adventure on a Balearic island, this unique vehicle is now ready for a new owner.
Bodywork and paintwork:
The bodywork, which has always been well-maintained, has been professionally refurbished with a high-quality bronze film. The film is easy to clean and perfectly matches the overall appearance of this well-maintained example. There is discoloration on some of the plastic parts, which even enhances the character of this car.
Interior:
The interior has been given the utmost attention. The carpet landscape is new, all six seats have been reupholstered and freshly covered with tough vinyl from the Land Rover shelf. The dashboard is new and fitted with an I-Pod providing fresh music, a navigation system and a helpful reversing camera. To complete the restoration, the headlining was renewed and the windows, which are permitted in Switzerland, were wrapped.
Engine and mechanics:
The economical and reliable gasoline engine is a rarity. The power is sufficient to get through anywhere. With the new MFK in spring 2025, the cylinder head will be overhauled and the vehicle electrics refreshed.
Chassis:
Brakes and chassis are as good as new. The matching tires with all-weather tires were renewed in 2023. As a highlight, a 2-ton cable winch was fitted, which is operated electrically by remote control.
Driving experience:
A Landy has no comparison. The high seating position ensures a good overview, the solid "bottom through" ensures safety, the simple cell with few switches has everything you need for driving. A Defender does not drive, it is driven. It is at home anywhere, even on a highway, even if it gets bored there.
Recommendation:
The Defender is not an SUV, but a genuine all-wheel-drive vehicle for all terrains and all roads. Its myth, its longevity and its popularity not only make the Defender an automobile for eternity, you also only invest once.
