1958 AMC Rambler American Super
€
For sale is a very beautiful and extremely rare 1958 AMC Rambler American Super. The vehicle is equipped with a 3.2-liter inline six-cylinder engine (91 hp) and a 4-speed manual transmission (steering wheel shift). Only 14,691 of the Rambler American Super model were produced in 1958.
The American Motors Corporation (AMC) was an American automobile manufacturer that emerged from the merger of the Nash-Kelvinator Corporation and the Hudson Motor Car Co in 1954. The company still had the tools from the 1955 Nash Rambler, which was only slightly modified and then served as the basis for the new Rambler American.
The vehicle offered here is from the first year of construction of this new edition and was probably imported into Switzerland as a new car, as the registration number in the vehicle registration document suggests. The early years of the vehicle are not documented. From 1990, with an indicated 95,853 km, the Rambler was owned by an enthusiast who kept a logbook and only covered 2,000 km over 4 years. In the spring of 1996, the vehicle was taken over by the father of the last owner. He, himself a mechanic, also looked after the vehicle and kept a detailed maintenance log. In 2007 (around 1,500 km ago), the radiator was overhauled and the water pump replaced, in 2010 the vehicle was converted to DOT5 silicone brake fluid and in 2016 the front seat was reupholstered. Currently, the vehicle has probably only driven 105,500 kilometers and is in good and very original general condition. The last MFK as a veteran vehicle was in September 2024.
