From 1959 to 1968 (Coupé and Cabriolet until 1971), the Mercedes-Benz W111 model series and its offshoots W110 and W112 were the benchmark in the luxury car class. If you were looking for a sporty coupé with saloon qualities and luxury-class comfort in the second half of the 1960s, there was really no way around the Mercedes-Benz 250 SE Coupé. With a top speed of 185 km/h, it was one of the fastest and, with disc brakes and fuel injection, one of the most advanced. Even 50 years later, the elegant coupé is still impressive. Between 1969 and 1976, Mercedes-Benz built the W114 Coupé, also known as the Stroke Eight Coupé, as the 250 C, 250 CE, 280 C and 280 CE.
