In the 1920s and 1930s, the car manufacturer Lagonda was one of the crème de la crème and sold sports cars that had a large fan base. The 2 Litre Tourer even competed successfully at Le Mans and excelled with its advanced technical characteristics. Ninety years later, it still looks very sporty and leaves many a younger car behind. This driving report is dedicated to the Lagonda 14/60 HP 2 Litre Low Chassis Tourer, built from 1929, and shows it in many photos.
One of the most expensive ways to drive a six-cylinder tourer at the end of the 1940s was the Lagonda 2 1/2 Litre. With its impressively modern design, however, the English car remained rare due to its high price. However, its engine formed the basis for the famous Aston Martin DB models. This vehicle report tells the story and the peculiarities of the Lagonda 2 1/2, which was built from 1948 to 1953, and shows an example in detail, supplemented with many historical pictures and three sales brochures from that time. The Lagonda 3 Litre was produced between 1953 and 1958, following on from the 2 1/2 Litre, which had been produced from 1947. Similar in character to its predecessor, the larger 3 Litre impressed above all with its more fashionable design and more powerful, larger engine. High prices and insufficient demand meant the end of the last genuine Lagonda.
