Georges Irat is a little-known brand outside France that bears the name of its founder. As early as the 1920s, Georges Irat built highly interesting vehicles that even competed in Le Mans, where they achieved a remarkable 15th place overall in 1923. Later, G.I. built small sports cars with front-wheel drive and, after the war, a streamlined convertible. However, success was not kind to him and in the 1950s he finally called it a day, although around 150 vehicles survived. This report summarizes the eventful history of the Georges Irat brand and highlights some of the interesting vehicles in words and pictures, as well as with two original brochures.
