As always, the Artcurial auction on February 7, 2014 at the Rétromobile in Paris began with a musical distraction. And as always, a visibly cheerful Maitre Poulain appeared on stage just before the first vehicle was called. Unlike in previous years, however, the auction took place directly in the exhibition hall and for this reason not all vehicles were allowed to roll across the stage at the behest of the Rétromobile organizers. Only around 60 of the 132 vehicles on offer drove past the audience under their own power or pushed by hard-working helpers. However, the bidders had plenty of opportunity to familiarize themselves with the offerings beforehand. The auction catalog (incl. Solo Alfa) comprised four volumes and a total of over 500 pages! A separate volume had been reserved for the Ferrari 166 MM Oblin from 1953 as well as for the collection of the former pilot and textile industrialist Albert Prost, whose remaining automobile estate of 15 vehicles was brokered by Artcurial.
