Of course, a current motor show belongs to the novelties, but 2011 had shown that tradition can also set many a highlight. However, the 2012 Geneva Motor Show offered little in the way of tradition. Visitors to the 2012 Geneva Motor Show who are interested in classic cars and tradition in automotive engineering were probably somewhat disappointed by the almost complete absence of automotive heritage. Things were different in 2011, when a whole range of manufacturers had historic vehicles on their stands and never tired of looking back up to 125 years. Missed opportunity to cultivate tradition There was no shortage of opportunities to leaf through the brand's own history. Why not show the original Honda NSX from 1991 when the "NSX Concept" is presented? Why not present classic Lancia vehicles when the somewhat bland new (Chrysler) Lancia Fabia is to be praised? Where were the ancestors of the new Mercedes SL or the Porsche Boxter - I'm sure many still remember the beautiful original study .... And even the Rolls Royce Phantom, which has only been imperceptibly model-maintained, would perhaps have benefited from a bit of traditional care ...
