A number of car brands have had two lives or are in their second life (such as Audi and Maybach), others have even had three lives or are living for the third time (such as Bugatti and MG). The Talbot brand, which also had three lives, took its name from the Earl of Shrewsbury and Talbot. The Clément-Talbot built from 1903 onwards were a variation of the Clément-Bayard, later Darracq. Despite a further liaison, the English Talbot led a life of its own from 1910. From 1927, Georges Roesch from Geneva helped the English Talbot to a new sporting reputation with high-speed engines. However, Talbot was integrated into the Rootes Group in 1935, and in 1938/39 the brand was absorbed into Sunbeam.
