The people at Bonhams couldn't complain, announcing a total sales volume of £35.6 million for all the auctions around Goodwood. At the Revival, 67 vehicles with a total value of £13.5 million, or 20.3 million CHF or 16.7 million euros, were knocked down. The average value of a car sold was therefore £202,000, CHF 304,000 or 250,000 euros. The unrestored S-Mercedes The Mercedes-Benz 26/120/180 S Type Sport Tourer from 1928 was dubbed one of, if not the most important car recovered in recent years. Expectations were correspondingly high, and at £ 2,801,500 they were not disappointed. The car had never been restored during its lifetime and remained in the family for many years.
