Imagine someone buying an Aston Martin DB9 today and converting it into a station wagon to pull a racing trailer with a racing car at high speed. Unthinkable? Today it is, but over 50 years ago it was entirely possible In the UK, a hasty garage owner converted a Jaguar XK150 into a sporty towing vehicle - what a story! It was October 1948 when Jaguar presented the XK100, which never went into series production with the proposed four-cylinder engine, but became a phenomenal sales success as the XK 120. Instead of the expected 200 units, 12,055 were sold by 1954 alone. On board was the new in-line six-cylinder engine with two overhead camshafts and a displacement of 3.4 liters, which could accelerate the XK120 with 160 hp to around 120 miles per hour.
