Summary
During the Rétromobile in Paris, the Bonhams auction house also hosted an auction in Paris, at "La Halle Freyssinet" in the 13th district. Not all the chairs were occupied when the auctioneer called the first of the hundred cars. In the end, 60% of the vehicles on offer were sold. The highest bid was for an Aston Martin DB4 GT from 1961. The rare sports car was worth EUR 1,012,000 (CHF 1,219,561) to its owner (including surcharges/commissions). Another highlight, an Amilcar C6/C0 Voiturette from 1928 could not be knocked down, despite the highest bid of Euro 430'000. This report analyzes the results of the auction and points out some of the interesting vehicles. A detailed list of results and around 100 photos of the auction round off the report.

Preview (beginning of the article)
It is so much better and more exciting to be able to drive up, hear and smell the vehicles on stage at an auction than to buy them standing away from the screen. The Bonhams people followed this idea when they chose "La Halle Freyssinet" in the thirteenth arrondissement of Paris as the venue for the "Paris Sale" on February 2, 2012 and set up a real driving route in front of the audience. Fifteen minutes by cab from the Rétromobile, one could hope for a large number of trade visitors. However, the attention of the financially strong bidders had to be shared with the Artcurial auction on February 3, 2012. Whether this was the reason why not all the chairs were occupied on the cold Thursday evening or whether simply not enough people were informed about the auction, we don't know.
