RM/Sotheby's auctioned 58 cars and four motorcycles alongside a few automobilia at Motorworld Munich on October 23, 2024. Two collections made up the majority of the vehicles, which were on average a good 63 years old and had a combined estimate of around EUR 32.8 million. 68% of the cars and motorcycles were sold without a reserve price, and a total of 87% of the vehicles were sold for an average of EUR 368,000. There were a few surprises, and for once it was not the young vehicles that shone. This auction review analyzes the results and shows a picture of all the vehicles auctioned.

On October 23, 2024, RM/Sotheby's auctioned 58 cars and four motorcycles worth EUR 32.8 million at Motorworld Munich. There was no lack of interest, and the bidding battles were persistent and fierce, so that the auction only came to an end after around 3.5 hours. Of the 62 vehicles, 54 were sold, so the sales quota was 87%. A high rate was to be expected, as 68% of the vehicle lots went under the hammer without a reserve price. On average, bidders went as high as 91.8% of the median estimate, but the swings were wide. Not quite a third were knocked down at or above expectations, while the rest came in at or well below the expected hammer prices.
