Summary
The international auction house RM/Sotheby's auctioned 66 cars and seven motorcycles in Munich on November 26, 2022. The sales rate was high at 88 percent, but this was also due to the proportion of "no limit" lots of almost 60 percent. Some of the BMW classics from a collection sold for surprisingly high prices, with three cars even fetching more than five times the median estimate. The most expensive car, however, was a Ferrari F40. This auction review analyzes the results and shows the cars in pictures.

Preview (beginning of the article)
RM/Sotheby's organized an auction at Motor World Munich for the first time. On November 26, 2022, 73 vehicles worth EUR 24.7 million went under the hammer. An average of EUR 336,216 was therefore expected for the 67 cars and seven motorcycles. 58 percent of the lots went under the hammer without a reserve price! 88 percent of the lots - including all motorcycles - were successfully sold. Total sales amounted to around EUR 23 million, only slightly below the total estimates. Significantly more than expected was paid for some vehicles. With 29 BMWs, which were 51 years old on average, and 15 Ferraris, which had an average of four decades under their belt, two brands were dominant in Munich.
