Summary
On July 30, 2016, RM/Sotheby's auctioned 68 vehicles in St. John (Plymouth, Michigan) with total proceeds of around USD 6.4 million (EUR 5.7 million, CHF 6.3 million), which meant an average sale price of USD 118,900. The bidding was heavily American, with just four Ferraris and two Porsches going under the hammer, but a Messerschmitt, a Glas and other rarities. This report analyzes the results and shows interesting vehicles in pictures.

Preview (beginning of the article)
It was certainly not the RM/Sotheby's auction house's most glamorous sale, but perhaps one of the most down-to-earth. After all, the average prices of the 68 vehicles auctioned, including a motorcycle, in St. John (Plymouth, Michigan) on July 30, 2016, were only 10% of what is usually asked for in Monterey, and cars that are usually not seen so often also went under the hammer. With a sales rate of 79%, those responsible at RM/Sotheby's can actually be satisfied, but an analysis of the results shows that the sales price achieved only reached an average of around 88% of the expected estimated price, and this still includes the sales commission.
