Preview (beginning of the article)
The Hershey auction has already become a tradition. On October 8/9, 2015, it was time again and this year the selection was again strongly American in color and the pre-war vehicles took up more than half of the space in the catalog. A total of 144 cars changed hands for a total of USD 16 million (€ 14.1 million, CHF 15.4 million), making the average price of a vehicle USD 111,440 (€ 98067 or CHF 106,983). It was one of the oldest cars that auctioneer Max Girardo was able to knock down at the highest prices. The Pierce-Arrow Model 66-A Seven-Passenger Touring from 1913 was worth USD 830,500 (€ 730,840, CHF 797,280) to the buyer, almost 40 % more than the estimated price.
