From September 2 to 5, 2021, RM/Sotheby's auctioned 466 cars in addition to spare parts, tractors and motorcycles at the annual Auburn Fall Auction in Auburn, Indiana. The vast majority of them were in the five-digit price range with an average estimate of 30,000 US dollars. Despite the large number of vehicles, the total proceeds of 15.4 million US dollars were just below the maximum estimate of 15.7 million. As only 428 of the cars on offer (92 percent) were sold, the average price per car was still USD 36,000. American brands dominated the offer. The leader was Ford with 104 cars, followed by Chevrolet (46), Cadillac (30) and Lincoln (20). Porsche and Mercedes-Benz were comparatively poorly represented with 19 and 16 cars respectively. The Ferrari range was also very small, with just five models from the 1980s and 1990s.
