RM Open Roads February 2022 - less than half of the cars sold online
Summary
Coffee grinders, mandolins and classic cars were auctioned off together at RM/Sotheby's online auction from February 16 to 23, 2022. While the majority of the musical instruments and coffee grinders found a new owner, only 44 percent of the 27 automobiles, including a Sahara duck, were successfully knocked down, for an average of just over USD 105,000. In fact, online bidders were not prepared to go as far as the minimum asking price for many of the cars. The most expensive cars sold were all from Maranello, while the cheapest car was a Mercedes-Benz 450 SEL 6.9. This auction review analyzes the results and shows all the vehicles in the picture.

What do coffee grinders, mandolins and vintage cars have to do with each other? Not much, actually. But RM brought these objects of desire together at an online auction. From February 16 to 23, 2022, bidders around the world were able to buy three coffee machines for just a few dollars, a tool set for the McLaren F1 (GBP 6000) for a little more money or a Mercedes-Benz 450 SEL 6.9 for USD 35,200. As always with the "Open Roads" auctions, the lots were scattered across half the world and were auctioned in different currencies. 27 cars were on offer, with an average age of almost 53 years and a total estimated value of almost USD 3 million.
