The last time an auction was held at the Swiss Classic Worldclassic car fair in Lucerne was in May 2019. After the coronavirus break, the classic car gallery, based in Toffen, returned with 41 cars. On average, these were almost exactly 52 years old and represented a value of around CHF 3.25 million. An average of almost CHF 80,000 per car was therefore expected. After a good two hours, five cars (12%) remained definitively unsold, while 22 cars were knocked down without reserve and 14 with reserve. Around half of these "conditionally knocked down" cars are likely to be sold after renegotiation, which would result in a good sales rate of 71%. Cars were sold for almost exactly one million Swiss francs; ultimately, following renegotiations between the consignor and the highest bidder for the vehicles knocked down under reserve, a turnover of just over CHF 1.5 million should be achievable.
