While the Bertone and Pinin Farina body factories were already building large series of Alfa Romeo special models, Ghia, another famous Turin car design company, lacked production capacity. In 1960, Ghia and Fergat (a subsidiary of Olivetti) jointly founded Officine Stampaggi Industriali = OSI in order to be able to produce the promising enthusiast models Fiat 2300 S Coupé and Innocenti 950 Spider under Ghia boss Luigi Segre. Fiat station wagons (1300/1500) and, from 1964, the Ford Anglia Torino (without the inward-sloping rear window of the original Anglia at the time) were also built in the 21,000 m2 of factory space and two production lines on the opposite side of the road from Ghia.
