In 1967, the Italian coachbuilder OSI (Officine Stampaggi Industriali) presented a strikingly unusual model, the OSI Bisiluro (double torpedo) Silver Fox, at the Turin Motor Show. The idea for this daring project came from the famous racing driver Piero Taruffi and actually had only one goal: to break the speed record at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The ambitions of the designers were high, as the 225 km/h mark was to be broken, and the parties involved were accordingly ambitious and full of enthusiasm... Unfortunately, the hoped-for acid test never came, the dreams of cheering spectators celebrating the new record never came true, the Silver Fox remained a prototype, it never even crossed the starting line at Le Mans.
