Preview (beginning of the article)
Of course, it wasn't super classics worth millions that Iconic Auctioneers auctioned off at the "Practical Classic Car and Restoration Show" over two days on March 22 and 23, 2025 in Birmingham. There were utility classics, restoration projects and barn/garage finds. On average, the specialists estimated the 176 classics on offer at not quite £17,000, which was also the average value of the 143 cars sold. In total, the sum of £ 2.36 million was raised. British-built cars were widely represented, with 18 Fords, 10 MGs, 7 Land Rovers, 7 Morrises, 6 Austin, 5 Bentleys, 5 Jaguars, 5 Minis and 5 Rovers together forming the spearhead, which was only just broken by Mercedes-Benz (14 cars), Porsche (13), BMW (10), Volkswagen (8) and Toyota (6).
