It is one of the auction highlights, the Gooding & Co auction, which takes place every year over two days around the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elégance. On August 18/19, 2017, the time had come again and 136 vehicles went under the hammer, including three children's cars and a motorcycle. The total value of the vehicles was estimated at USD 120 million, but not quite that much was raised. Gooding sold 81% of the lots for a total of USD 91.6 million (EUR 77.9 million, CHF 88.8 million). On average, therefore, USD 832,670 was achieved per vehicle (including surcharge/commission). The highest bidders paid an average of 97% of the median estimate, a good result given the high expectations in advance.
