From March 9 to 19, 1967, the Geneva Motor Show welcomed over 500,000 visitors to its annual show of new products, which also featured a number of world firsts at the 37th edition, including the Lamborghini Marzal, the Fiat Dino Coupé, the Matra 530 and the Opel Commodore. However, the Japanese invasion also provided plenty to talk about. This Salon review describes the atmosphere and the new products, looks at the special features of the '67 Salon and shows everything in almost 200 historical photographs.

The 37th Geneva Motor Show, which took place from March 9 to 19, 1967 in the city of Geneva on Boulevard Carl-Vogt, was held under good auspices. After all, record figures were reported for the previous year in terms of new registrations. 146,000 new passenger cars and estate cars were registered, 4.8% more than in the previous year. German manufacturers remained unchallenged in first place, followed at a considerable distance but closely by car manufacturers from France and the UK, while Italy had to be satisfied with lower figures. The Americans were strongly represented in Switzerland, even beating the Swedes. Just 192 cars arrived in Switzerland from Japan, but this was soon to change.
