On April 26, Emil Frey Classics auctioned off 28 classic cars and two motorcycles in Safenwil. In the run-up to the event, the bidding was estimated at a total value of 1.6 to 2.1 million Swiss francs. However, the bidding public was not quite so relaxed. The bids came in quite slowly, and it soon became clear that the best bidder had the best chance of selling: The best chance of selling is what is either a Jaguar or a convertible - or both. The Jaguar XJS Convertible was the most expensive car sold in Safenwil for a hammer price of 25,000 francs. With a sales price of 27,750 francs including buyer's premium, it was in the middle of its estimate.
